Dan Cunningham

Dan Cunningham was born in St.Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. He was raised a logger's son in Kerrs Ridge, a rural region near St.Andrews. This rugged and majestic setting has been both home and inspiration to this young yet seasoned musician.

Dan's roots seem unmistakably bound to his rural upbringing.   In 2002 Dan founded and fronted One Mile Hill. This band would soon become one of the most innovative bands in the region. The pinnacle of this stage in his career culminated in a 2005 ECMA nomination for Bluegrass Recording of the Year with One Mile Hill. In March of 2005 Dan launched his solo career and has since asserted himself as one of New Brunswick's finest artists.  

Dan's debut album "Obscurity" has stormed the roots world across Canada.  Within the first month "Obscurity" was one of the top ten domestically spun albums on Canadian folk/roots radio.  This success has established Dan as not only an accomplished artist but as an  ambassador for Canadian Bluegrass.   

With fearless determination Dan has worked aggressively in presenting his bluegrass/roots style to an extremely diverse audience.  Audiences continue to rave about his ability to connect with listeners and deliver performances with passion and integrity and still somehow maintain that down home sensibility and charm.
