Born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Donny raised a bow to the fiddle in 1981. Having mastered the intricate technique of this instrument through self-taught methods would be enough for most performers – not Donny. His musical versatility expanded to also playing the mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar, as well as the unique double neck mando-caster/electric guitar. With his superior vocal ability added to the mix, and easy transition from Country Classics to Blues to Easy Rock, Donny hit the touring road in 1991 with none other than the tall, smiling Texan , Country Music Great, Neal McCoy..

TRO is the son of two respected musicians, Yvonne “muzzy” and Coleman Howe. After years of hearing in house band practices and live music TRO developed and ear for beats that he didn’t know he had. He spent much of his life in a neighborhood rich in culture “Cote Des Neiges” otherwise called Uptown (Montreal). The streets pumped out Reggae, Calypso, Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop, Chinese, Greek and Italian music to name a few. This has left TRO an open ear to all music, which he incorporates into his own. He enjoys artists from the old school as well as some Hip Hop producers today.

Mark Hill

Mark Hill began guitar studies with his father, Dave Hill, at age 10 reading music and studying Chet and Merle.  His father was a Chet stylist in the 1950's when fingerpicking was still a novelty.  He performed with some of Montreal ’s bigger country names and was featured in solo Chet Atkins selections.  When Mark was 12 his dad gave him his first Gretsch, an early 1960's Anniversary Model, which he still has and recorded most of his “Picking on Chet” album on.

      The Best Of Dick Nolan
Dick Nolan

Beginning in the mid-1960s, Nolan began making regular trips back to the province and recorded albums of Newfoundland-oriented material. In 1972 he released Aunt Martha's Sheep, a humorous song by Ellis Coles, which became one the most successful Newfoundland records of the decade and a minor hit at country radio stations across Canada. Nolan went on to make several more popular records, featuring comic songs like Newfie Outhouse and A Piece of Baloney.

David Michael was born in St. John’s Newfoundland to parents of Lebanese and Polish descent.  With such a diverse background, David attended St. Pat’s school in St. John’s and at the age of 16 made the decision to join the Christian Brothers of Ireland.  David spent eight years in the Brothers until maturity and a questioning and inquisitive mind caught up with him.  In an effort to redefine himself, he left for Paris where he started post-graduate work.  Now living in Toronto where he co-own a pub,  every year he returns to Newfoundland. No matter where he goes, Newfoundland tags along “enriching me as I go”.

Graphic design for the CD is by Lillian Fidler of Lillian Fidler Design with the CD cover photo by Denis Minty and the painting on the inside cover of Cape St. Mary’s was donated by Jerry Squires. All proceeds from the sales of the CD will be donated to the Friends of Cape St. Mary’s, a non-profit organization which helps promote Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve in all facettes.
