The Chucky
Danger Band has been on the rise since their debut
at the East Coast Music Awards earlier this year.
Dressed in trademark tailored black suits and ties
and a fresh pop/rock sound, they delivered
performances they set in motion a major buzz. The
Chucky Danger Band has continued to back that up
with successful performances throughout the
Maritimes, a debut CD "colour" and a win
at the PEI Music Awards for Entertainer of the
Year.
21 year old songwriter John
MacPhee began his journey when he went to Cambodia
to aid and support the poor. During his stay, he
began to write songs to ease the longs days and
the emotional ups and downs of the task. In 2004,
he returned to his home on Prince Edward Island
and presented his songs to his brother Rob and
neighbor Colin Buchanan. Both Rob and Colin were
psyched over the music and the three immediately
began turning the acoustic guitar pieces into
layered melodies ready for a full band to play. A
short time later, the trio enlisted a fourth
member David MacDonald. The Chucky Danger Band
was formed with John on acoustic guitar and lead
vocal, brother Rob MacPhee on bass, Colin Buchanan
on lead guitar, and David MacDonald on drums and
percussion.
